I find nowadays I can do everything I want with VB6 (for Windows) and JavaScript/node.js (for web and mobile applications). If you are really asking for advice I’d suggest you concentrate on JS and node.js rather than.Net. But I do understand there is a lot of legacy.Net software around that will need supporting for years. We need a migration story for EF6 migrations (no wording pun intended). Those of us with projects that have tens of EF6 migrations will need a way to upgrade to EF Core when EFCore is ready (TPT inheritance, no in-memory translations etc.) Currently there is NO way for us to upgrade to EF Core (we’ve tried twice), since EF Core does not read the EF6 migrations table and thus we cannot re-create databases from our existing migrations. This will NEED to be supported if we are to ever move away from EF6. When can we expect this to be available?
